Collective Resistance and Care
ABOUT CRAC:
CRAC is about change. We cannot talk about change without acknowledging that the power structures of the world fucking suck. It sometimes feels like all the beauty in the world is taken away from us, leaving us alone with lives that are powerless and rigid. We organize because we know that changes are happening, and we want to influence and shape these. To do so, we connect with each other: Community is both a necessity and a tactic.
To us, political organizing is nurturing communities, sharing values, and working towards the futures we imagine. We believe that by organizing together, we are shaping political struggles and establishing resilient communities. Organizing is a way of lifting ideas that individuals could never carry out by themselves.
Community is what makes us feel less alone when the world is collapsing all around us, and it is our protection against repression. Through our organizing, we oppose the current state structures in acts of defiance.
Our aim of political organizing is to fundamentally change things, shut down industries, and tear down the walls that keep us from each other. We are here to threaten the established systems of domination and reclaim connection – to each other and to the world around us.
We think of organizing as a muscle that needs to be activated, exercised, and taken care of, both in ourselves and in our community. If we stop using it, we can forget about the force that lies within our organizing.
We try our best to adjust and reflect on our organizing, and we know that we will make mistakes. While we try to fight exploitation and destruction wherever we see it, we sometimes end up reinforcing the same oppressive structures, that we aim to to destroy. We see no other way than to learn, adapt and challenge, and to refuse to let our anxiety of making mistakes stop us.
We continue, because within us, we carry in our hearts and minds a utopia shaped by our own experiences and our imaginations of something else entirely. We believe that our organizing is crucial to our feeling wholeness, of living the lives we want.
It is an act of love, destruction, and creation!
